The Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department has received a $50,000 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to purchase new fire hoses.
The department indicates the current hoses are from the late 1980s and early 1990s and have been becoming a huge safety risk for their firefighters. With the new hoses, the department will be in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association standards and ensure the safety of its firefighters.
The department expressed their gratitude to Vickers Consulting for their assistance obtaining the grant.
