68-year old Curtis Cooper was laid to rest at the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West during a graveside service with military honors Tuesday morning.
Friends and community members showed their support as Cooper took his last ride through Cadiz. His body was escorted by emergency personnel and several motorcycle riders displaying American flags.
When Cooper’s body arrived at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West, members of the Trigg County Wildcat Football team served as pallbearers as they carried his body to the commital shelter at the cemetery. Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West Director Richard Stanley saluted the service of Cooper, who was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Stanley noted the crowd on hand to pay their last respects was one of the largest he could remember.
Following the remarks, Cooper was honored with a twenty-one gun salute and the playing of taps.
