A man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend and pulling a gun on her before fleeing from law enforcement in Trigg County Sunday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s Office Major Jimmy Godair said 33-year-old George Carter pulled a gun on his girlfriend and assaulted her before getting into a pursuit at speeds of 70 mph with deputies on Roaring Springs Road.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies reportedly used spike strips to flatten Carter’s tires at the intersection of Kentucky 117 causing him to slow down before Trigg County Deputies were able to disable his vehicle.
Carter is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, first-degree wanton endangerment first-degree criminal mischief, DUI second offense, reckless driving and two counts of fourth-degree assault.
He was also cited for not having a driver’s license along with multiple traffic violations.
