A Mason Dixon poll shows the Kentucky Governor’s race is a dead heat.
According to the poll conducted recently for the Courier-Journal Governor Matt Bevin and Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear were tied at 46 percent, with seven percent of registered voters still undecided. The poll finds 77 percent of Republicans plan to support Governor Bevin, with 22 percent of Democrats saying they plan to support the incumbent Governor. The poll also indicates Governor Bevin’s approval rating increased from 38 to 45 percent in the new poll.
According to the poll, Governor Bevin had a lead among male voters and voters over 50 years of age. Beshear leads in female voters and those under the age of 50. Beshear has a lead in the Louisville Metro area and in the Lexington-Bluegrass region. Governor Bevin leads in Northern, Eastern and Western Kentucky.
The Mason Dixon poll surveyed 625 registered voters between October 10 and 13.
