A public meeting to release gathered information for an internet project in Lyon County scheduled for Monday night has been cancelled.
Judge-Executive Wade White announced that officials were unable to gather all the needed information to present the project in full to the public Monday and therefore felt it was better to cancel the meeting. He added that the project, which is an attempt to provide high-speed fiber internet to every resident within the county, will cost the county a significant amount of money and his hope is to present those findings to the community soon.
Judge White notes that citizens and business owners in Lyon County are still being encouraged to participate in a current survey through the Industrial Development Authority Board (IDA) and the West Kentucky and Tennessee Telecommunications Cooperative (WK&T). Residents can call 1-800-910-LYON (5966) or send an email to fiberforlyoncounty@wk.net.
For more information about the fiber project, you can call Judge White’s office at 270-388-7311.
The meeting will be rescheduled for a later date.
