The January trial for the two men accused of killing a Clarksville teen and dumping his body on the side of an Oak Grove road has been delayed until April after a Christian Circuit Court Judge granted a motion for continuance Wednesday morning.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling tells the News Edge Judge John Atkins continued the trial of Dequavion James and Leonardo Miller after their defense attorney’s filed a motion requesting the trial be continued to a later date. He says the motion was based on the outcome of a Kentucky Supreme Court ruling regarding a death penalty case for 18 to 21-year-olds charged with murder.

The trial was continued until April 23, 2020.

James and Miller are accused of shooting of 19-year old DeAndre Palmer and then hiding his body in a closet before eventually dumping his body on the side of Carter Road in Oak Grove. His body was found by police on July 20, 2016.

Both men remain lodged in the Christian County Jail.
