The Christian County Drug Coalition is inviting the public to take part in the “I Got Better Things To Do” community event this weekend. The goal is to remove barriers in the home, build family bonding, and discourage kids from underage drinking.
Pennyrile Network Regional Coordinator with the Pennyrile Allied Community Services, Sabrina Davis, who is also a member of the Christian County Prevention Coalition tells the News Edge the event will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. At the event, she says students from across Christian County participated in an art contest and the winners will be awarded prizes and families while families get to learn about resources from within the community.

Davis adds they will also have booths set up to help link families with resources, programs, organizations, opportunities to volunteer, and as well as connect with the community. In addition, she says they will have a keynote speaker at 1:00 who will share his personal testimony of overcoming addiction.

She also says it is not too late for any other organization to set up a resource booth because it is free.
