After working through the night, Pennyrile Electric crews made significant progress restoring power to members who lost electricity due to Saturday’s storms.
Spokesman Brent Gilkey reports they are down to 27 outages affecting 138 members. He notes a large outage in the Drakesboro area in Muhlenberg County Tuesday is affecting about 1,000 members and is scheduled for changing out a pole. He said the power to those customers should be back on around noon. According to Gilkey, they anticipate full restoration of power to all customers Tuesday.
There were over 13,000 Pennyrile Electric members without power at the peak of the outage after the storms and straight-line winds moved across the area Saturday afternoon, downing trees and powerlines, and snapping utility poles.
