Kentucky State Police are investigating a two-vehicle wreck that claimed the life of a Mayfield woman Wednesday night.
State police responded to the crash scene around 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of KY 80 East and KY 1124. Police say a preliminary investigation revealed 81-year old Nancy Riley failed to yield at the intersection as she attempted to cross KY 80 and pulled into the path of a car driven by 27-year old Matthew Rowland of Mayfield, who was traveling west on KY 80 East.
Riley was transported by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.
