A Louisiana man was charged after he nearly hit a Hopkinsville Police Officer on Walnut Street Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Martin Lopez said 36-year-old Christopher Brocato crossed the center line nearly hitting an officer’s vehicle with his truck on Walnut Street after he fired two rounds in a restaurant parking lot on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
Witnesses at the restaurant reportedly told police Brocato fired his gun in the parking lot and police located a truck that had two bullet holes in its tires.
During the arrest Brocato reportedly threatened the officer and his family.
No one was injured and Brocato was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, DUI, third-degree terroristic threatening, reckless driving, and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
