Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and Christmas is right around the corner. That means it’s time to start thinking about creating floats for area Christmas parades, putting up Christmas lights and decorations, or creating a display for the annual Christmas in the Park at West Cadiz Park.
For those who may be new to the area, Judy Terrell explains that Christmas in the Park is a community effort in which residents, businesses or church groups can set up Christmas themed displays at West Cadiz Park.

Terrell says the Corps of Engineers’ only requirement for displays is the business or church name signage must be a 2×2 square foot.
After the Cadiz parade Saturday night, December 7, Terrell says you can also display your float at the park.

She notes displays can be set up at the park the Saturday after Thanksgiving. She adds they are not responsible for any damages to your display.
This is the 19th year for Christmas in the Park and Terrell says it continues to grow each year. She notes it has grown from seven displays the first year to 60 displays last year. This year, she hopes to have 70 displays in West Cadiz Park.
If you are interested in having a display at the park, contact Judy Terrell by November 15th. Her cell phone is (270) 350-3042 or home phone at (270) 522-6822. She also says you can contact Renaissance on Main Director Casey Parrent at (270) 522-8756.
