A Hopkinsville store is closing at the beginning of next year.
Kayleigh Painter, Media Relations for Dollar Tree, Inc. confirmed to the News Edge the Family Dollar location at 3145 Canton Pike will close in early January. She adds the location at 614 East 9th Street will remain open.
In 2015, Dollar Tree purchased the Family Dollar chain which operates nearly 8,000 stores throughout the United States and is the second-largest discount store chain. In March, the retailer announced it would close up to 400 stores nationwide due to heavy pressure from an activist investor.
