Trigg County Board of Education members approved to make-up two snow days that were used last month during their meeting Thursday night.
Director of Student Services and Personnel James Mangels says the two days that needed to be made up were Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13 after minor snowfall made roads slick and hazardous. Mangels adds they have decided it would be best to use Friday, March 13 and Monday, March 16, 2020, as make-up days.
Board members unanimously approved the make-up days, with the last day for students set for Friday, May 15, 2020.
In other action, the board heard a report from Sherman Carter Barnhart’s Justin McElfresh concerning updates on the elementary school renovation project.
The meeting served as the last for Interim Superintendent Tim McGinnis, who says it was a pleasure coming back to work for the district over the last six months.
Board members thanked McGinnis for his dedication to the district and the students and also welcomed new Superintendent Bill Thorpe. He officially takes over as superintendent on January 1, 2020.
The next board meeting will take place Thursday evening, January 9 at 6:00 at the Trigg County Board of Education office on Main Street in Cadiz.
