Newly sworn-in Governor Andy Beshear announced Monday afternoon that he is signing an executive order to rescind the Medicaid waiver requiring recipients to work and pay a premium to receive coverage.
During a news conference, Beshear said his administration is taking a major step to make sure Kentucky families stay covered by Medicaid by repealing the Kentucky HEALTH 1115 Medicaid waiver.

Beshear added his action pertaining to the waiver also ends Kentucky’s role in the litigation involving the waiver, which has already been struck down by a federal court. He said they have now asked the court to dismiss Kentucky from the lawsuit.
