Area legislators are hopeful that they will have a good working relationship with Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear during his first General Assembly session.
Third district State Senator Whitney Westerfield says he and the Governor certainly have different thoughts on many issues, but he is confident they can find common ground on some issues Westerfield feels are important for the commonwealth.
Fourth District State Representative Lynn Bechler says although Governor Beshear will present the State of the Commonwealth address Tuesday night he will get a better feel for the working relationship after lawmakers receive his state budget proposal later this month.
Eighth District State Representative Walker Thomas says there could be some difference of opinion on some of the Governor’s ideas to generate more revenue.
Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett says lawmakers are hopeful that they can work well with the Governor for the good of the people of the state.
