Dayton Jones will be arraigned next week after he turned himself in at the Oldham County Courthouse Thursday.

Officials tell the News Edge the Oldham County Sheriff’s Office served Jones with an indictment at the courthouse and that he posted the $5,000 bond.

As we previously reported, an Oldham County Grand Jury indicted Jones on January 3 for first-degree promoting contraband and second-degree persistent felony offender. Oldham County Commonwealth’s Attorney Courtney Baxter told us Jones was caught with suboxone in September at the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex. She says the lab results to confirm the drug, which is used to treat opiate addiction, did not come back until December 30.

Jones was released from the Luther Luckett Correctional Facility in La Grange after former Governor Matt Bevin commuted his 15-year sentence in December. Jones was serving time in the facility after he pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal in 2016 in connection to the brutal sexual assault of a 15-year old male at a party at a Lafayette Road home in 2014.

According to officials, Jones will be arraigned Thursday afternoon, January 23rd, at 1:00 in Oldham County Circuit Court.
