One of the police officers killed by a gunman in Hawaii Sunday previously worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media Monday morning their hearts are heavy after learning that Honolulu Police Officer Tiffany-Victoria Bilon Enriquez was killed in the line-of-duty. Authorities say she had previously worked at the sheriff’s office and served in the Air Force.

According to news reports, Officer Enriquez and Officer Kaulike Kalama responded to a call where a man had stabbed his landlord. The man then opened fire on the officers when they arrived at the home. The gunman then is believed to have set fire to the house he was being evicted from.

Associated Press reports that Officer Enriquez had served with the police department in Hawaii for seven-years, and Officer Kalama had been with the department for nine years.
