A former news reporter for TV-43 in Hopkinsville is returning to the area to become the new Christian County Chamber Military Affairs Director.
Chamber President Kelli Pendleton says Mona Nair will become Chamber Military Affairs Director Monday, February 3. Nair, who is native of India, grew up in Dubai before moving to the United States to attend Temple University. After obtaining her degree in Journalism, Public Relations, and Advertising, Nair moved to Hopkinsville to start her career in journalism at TV-43. Nair went on to work WWTE in Cadillac, Michigan and spent the past six years working as a news reporter and anchor at WATE in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Pendleton says she is very excited to have Mona joining the team at the Christian County Chamber of Commerce. She says Mona is excited to return to Kentucky and put her efforts in to helping Christian County grow by attracting more military families to the area.
Nair said with Kelli’s recent appointment as civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army, this is an exciting time at the chamber. Nair adds Kelli is a good leader with a vision for things that need to be done to better support the army. She adds she is looking forward to helping Pendleton execute her ideas and as the position takes a slightly new direction.
Pendleton adds Mona is a certified Yoga instructor and has been involved with the Yellow Ribbon Fund conducting retreats for injured service members and their families.
