Caldwell County School Superintendent Nate Huggins has released a statement concerning a non-injury accident involving a school bus Monday.
Huggins stated that he was driving the bus Monday because they were down several bus drivers and unfortunately side-swiped another vehicle, tearing a mirror off and leaving a scratch down the vehicle’s front fender.
He added that while he did break board policy he did so in the best interest of the students involved.
Huggins explained that he is still waiting for a completed police report before the finalization of the insurance claim.
