Hopkinsville Man Charged With DUI After Pursuit

A Hopkinsville man was charged with DUI after he reportedly fled from deputies  Saturday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Burgess said he attempted to stop 40-year-old Marion Wimberly on Fort Campbell Boulevard after he crossed the center line almost hitting Burgess head-on.

Wimberly reportedly failed to stop and fled at a low speed and tossed a receipt out the window before stopping in a parking lot on Walnut Street.

Deputies say they could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages on Wimberly and his eyes were bloodshot.

He is charged with DUI fourth offense or more, driving on a DUI suspended license, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, and criminal littering.
