A wreck on Pennyrile Parkway near exit 11 sent three people to the hospital Sunday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say a southbound car driven by 50-year-old Heather Hendrix of Elkton hit the back of a truck driven by 63-year-old James Scott of Newburgh, Indiana lifting the truck off the ground and pushing it off the road.
The crash caused the truck to overturn into the median before coming to a rest in the northbound lanes of traffic.
Scott pulled his unconscious wife 62-year-old Cynthia Scott from the truck and got into the median to get out of the northbound traffic.
Hendrix was unconscious after her head hit the windshield and her car traveled a mile before coming to a stop. Hendrix was taken to the airport by ambulance to be flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for head injuries.
James and Cynthia Scott were taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
The extent of the injuries remains unknown.
