A Trigg County woman is facing multiple charges after a Sunday night traffic stop yielded methamphetamine and other drugs.
According to the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year old April Cottrell was pulled over on Brant Drive after failing to use a turn signal. Cottrell was found to be driving on an expired driver’s license and had a warrant for failure to appear in Christian County.
While searching the vehicle, officers found a black CD case with methamphetamine, several syringes, one of which had an unknown substance, and other paraphernalia. In addition, a pill containing Buprenorphine, not in its original container and a Gabapentin pill was found in the backseat.
Cottrell is charged with her second offense of first-degree possession of a controlled substance – meth and first-degree prescription controlled substance not in the proper container and other drug and traffic-related offenses.
