A Princeton man is facing a robbery charge following an incident at a local grocery store Tuesday morning.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King states that officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Ruler Foods just after eleven. He adds that employees then provided officers with a detailed description of the suspect, who had fled the store.
Chief King notes that officers were able to locate the suspect, 43-year-old Bryan L. Mattingly, in the area of Good Street where investigation revealed that he had items concealed on his person. Further investigation also found that Mattingly had allegedly pushed an employee to flee the store when questioned about the theft.
Mattingly was taken into custody and charged with second-degree robbery.
He was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
