Man Charged In Connection With Two House Fires In Cadiz

A man has been charged Monday morning with two counts of arson in connection with two house fires in Cadiz.

Cadiz Police say 40-year-old Michael Davis was arrested after he reportedly gave police a false name as they were investigating the fires.

During the arrest, he reportedly admitted to setting the fires on Perry Street and Line Street Sunday night into early Monday morning.

Davis was also allegedly found to have a small amount of suspected meth on him.

Emergency personnel said both homes were currently vacant and fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.

Davis reportedly lived in the home on Line Street but had just moved out Friday.

Davis is charged with possession of meth, giving an officer false identifying information, and two counts of second-degree arson.
