Cadiz Resident Describes Damage From Nashville Tornado

A Cadiz resident has seen first hand some of the damage that occurred early Tuesday morning by an EF-3 tornado near Nashville.

Jason Wease, who works in Nashville, tells the News Edge he has seen extensive damage.

He adds while looking at some of the damage Wednesday, they found a field that was completely destroyed.

Wease notes recovery is beginning, but it will take some time.

He says people need to show patience through the recovery efforts.

Wease notes people need the basics to help them through the recovery process, especially as some places could be without power for a few weeks.

Tuesday morning’s severe storms have claimed the lives of at least 25 people in middle Tennessee, including two people in East Nashville. The most extensive damage from the storm occurred in Putnam County. News Channel 5 reports 18 people were killed in Putnam County, with 88 injured. The sheriff’s office reports a tornado hit between the city limits of Cookeville and Baxter, but the Nashville National Weather Service says storm assessment surveys have not been completed, as it has not been safe to do so.
