A Princeton man is facing assault charges following an incident Monday afternoon.
According to a Princeton Police report, officers responded to a domestic assault that occurred in the 300 block of Dawson Road around 3:40. The report indicates that the investigation revealed that the victim had been assaulted and strangled during the incident causing minor injury but the suspect had fled the scene.
The report states that the suspect, 42-year-old Billy D. Waynick, then called the police department on Tuesday to speak with officers. Waynick then voluntarily came to the police department and was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree assault – domestic violence minor injury and first-degree strangulation.
Waynick was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
