Deputies have released the names of two people that were rushed to the hospital after their horse and buggy was hit by a truck on Butler Road near Robinson Road Saturday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Burgess told the News Edge at the scene both people in the horse and buggy Alvin and Walter Shirk were ejected in the crash and taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
The driver of the truck 29-year-old Justin Jones was not injured in the crash. The full extent of Alvin and Walter Shirk’s injuries remains unknown.
The horse was euthanized due to its injuries.
