CCHD Responds To Cheercats Possible COVID-19 Exposure

Christian County Health Department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney is commending the Bluegrass Cheercats for notifying them about a coach who lives in Nashville and tested positive for COVID-19. She says this allowed the health department to step in and investigate.

Sweeney says the streamline process includes taking a look at the individual to confirm a positive coronavirus test, and if so, who they may have been in contact with in order for them to track them.

She says the individual in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case is asked to self-isolate for two weeks and the health officials stay in contact with the person to see if they are showing any signs or symptoms. Sweeney adds the individual who has been exposed to the virus is not tested unless they start showing symptoms.
