Christian County Schools Tops 13,000 Meals Served

The Christian County Public School District has delivered over 13,000 meals to students since March 16 with the delivery schedule to be altered some in the coming weeks.

Food Services Director Penny Holt said the school system is averaging over 2,000 meals daily at the nearly two-dozen delivery locations throughout Christian County. She said once they discovered some pockets of the county early that weren’t receiving meals, they were able to tweak the process and saw a sharp increase in daily meals served. Holt said the delivery process has been a smooth one thanks to the hard work of many.

Starting next week, Holt said meals will be packed for multiple days to give the school lunch workers a slight break.
