The Fort Campbell military installation is implementing some more safety measures to protect everyone involved.
During a Tuesday evening town hall, 101st Airborne Commander Major General Brian Winski says there are currently no positive COVID-19 cases among active service members.
Major General Winski adds among the changes they are making include putting some services on hold at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH).
BACH Commander, Colonel Patrick Birchfield adds they now have new stringent visitors policy, reduced visitor hours, and limit the number of visitors to one per patient. He says these measures will help to protect patients and staff. In addition, Colonel Birchfield says if you are coming for an outpatient procedure, to come alone unless you are transporting a minor or a senior.
Additionally, Commander Major General Brian Winski says an element of the transportation unit from 101st Sustainment Brigade will be heading to New York Wednesday.
101st Airborne Division Command Sergeant Major Bryan Barker urges everyone on the installation to practice social distancing.
Command Sergeant Major Barker adds they will remain a little over-reactive, so COVID-19 doesn’t become a major problem on the installation.
