Ft. Campbell Confirms First Soldier COVID-19 Case

A Fort Campbell soldier has tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first confirmed case for the virus of a service member at the installation.

According to the 101st Airborne Division, the person is assigned to a tenant unit, is currently isolated at their off-post residence, and has shown symptoms, but has not required hospitalization.

Upon notification of the positive test, Fort Campbell officials and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital health professionals ensured the person was medically cared for and immediately began conducting contact tracing to determine whether any others have been exposed.

They add at the direction of the Department of Defense, Fort Campbell will no longer be releasing or confirming numbers of positive cases, due to Operations Security purposes. The installation will still report positive cases to Tennessee and Kentucky health departments and the Department of Defense.
