Trigg County magistrates approved to file for a Homeland Security grant that could provide some new equipment for the county’s ambulance service and the jailer’s budget during a special called meeting Monday afternoon.
Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander says the grant will not cost the county anything.
Alexander adds, if approved, this will be a great opportunity for the ambulance department to get some much-needed equipment.
In addition, Trigg County Jailer James Hughes presented his $570,400 budget to magistrates.
Magistrates unanimously approved the budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
During the magistrate comment period, Mike Wright thanked Trigg County Hospital for all of their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trigg County Fiscal Court meetings and many others will be held electronically through the COVID-19 outbreak, because of Senate Bill 150, which was recently by the Kentucky General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Andy Beshear.
