Airports In Trigg, Christian Receiving Grants

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday that 55 Kentucky airports will receive $77.2-million from the Federal Aviation Administration through the Airport Improvement Program.

According to McConnell’s office, the money is a part of the CARES Act and comes as airports in Kentucky and around the country face financial hardships as a result of COVID-19. The funding will help provide economic relief to certain airports, with the FAA reporting the federal government will supply 100% of the AIP funding, which normally requires a local match.

Locally, Lake Barkley State Park Airport in Trigg County will receive $1,000, with the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport receiving $20,000. The Hopkinsville-Christian County, Madisonville Regional, Kyle-Oakley Field, and the Russellville-Logan County airports will all receive $30,000.
