A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly assaulted a police officer at a Fairview Drive home Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 34-year-old Quentin Cherry was found on the bathroom floor of the home unresponsive after a call of a possible overdose. The report states Cherry got up and charged at EMS, then resisted arrest by kicking at officers.
In Cherry’s pocket police allegedly found a spoon, needles and a bag of a white powdery substance. During the search of his pocket, he became combative again, causing an officer to be poked with a needle.
Cherry was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where it was determined he was in need of further medical care and was transported to a Madisonville hospital.
He is charged with third-degree assault, resisting arrest, and possession of meth.
