SWK EDC Selected To Participate In TVA Community Livability Initiative

Executive Director Carter Hendricks says they are excited the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) has been selected to participate in the Tennesse Valley Authority’s (TVA) Community Livability Initiative.

The purpose of the initiative, started and sponsored by TVA at no cost to the community, is to assist communities in sharing an impactful quality-of-place story. The quality of place has become a focus of companies and future talent when selecting a new location and community in which to move.

Hendricks says they are thrilled to represent our region and learn invaluable lessons and tools to best tell the region’s impressive story and help recruit and retain industries. He adds the SWK EDC is thankful for this opportunity and look forward to fully engaging in the process.

According to Hendricks, pitch feedback will be provided as well as an invitation to a special Community Livability Workshop presented by the Newmark Frank Knight consultants.

Once the South Western Kentucky Livability Story is completed, Hendricks says action plans will be incorporated into the SWK EDC regional economic development and tourism promotion strategies.
