A one-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer has lead to traffic restrictions on Interstate 24 in Lyon County.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District One spokesman Keith Todd states that his office received reports just after four Friday afternoon that a semi accident has westbound traffic restricted to one lane near the 50 mile marker on I-24. He adds that all westbound traffic has been moved to the left-hand, or passing, lane at this site.
Todd notes that the truck will have to be offloaded before it can be removed and the estimated duration for cleanup is between four and six hours.
Westbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach this crash site which is about two miles west of the I-24 extended work zone between Cadiz and Eddyville.
No other information concerning the accident has been released.
