The Christian County FFA will be honored with the Gold Emblem award during the 91st Annual Kentucky FFA Convention that will be held in a virtual format in late June.
Christian County School District spokesman John Rittenhouse says FFA Chapters are honored for their outstanding accomplishments in their program of activities during the 2019-2020 school year. Gold, Silver, and Bronze emblem chapters receive a plaque.
Christian County High Agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor Olivia Clark says ratings are given based on a form that is turned into the Kentucky FFA Association. The form shows the activities that a chapter has participated in over the year and are awarded points based on those activities. She adds Christian County FFA earned 490 points to be awarded a gold medal.
