Around ten Soldiers were deployed from Fort Campbell to Afghanistan last week to provide needed medical support.

101st Airborne Commander Major General Brian Winski says the Soldiers will serve at multiple locations during their deployment. A news release from the installation adds the Soldiers are trained and equipped to provide behavioral health support, both in-person and remotely, among other capabilities.

Winski adds around 270 members of the 531st Hospital Center that were deployed to New York state will soon be making their way home.

As soon as the Soldiers return to Fort Campbell, Winski says they will immediately be placed under a fourteen-day quarantine.

Another 175 Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade will soon arrive back from some missions in Africa. Winski says those Soldiers will also be placed under a fourteen-day quarantine before reuniting with their families.

Additionally, Winski reports over the last week there have been less than ten confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the military installation.
