Hopkinsville Art Guild Gallery Closing For Good

The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing the permanent closure of the Hopkinsville Art Guild’s Gallery on East 6th Street.

Art Guild President Henrietta Kemp told the News Edge Thursday afternoon they have simply run out of money.

Kemp adds they will conduct a closing sale through Saturday, May 23.

They will still post pictures of merchandise on Facebook through the end of the month, but the 23rd is the last day the store will be open to the public.

Kemp says they have operated the gallery for the past 11 years and will continue their regular programs thanks to the generous support of the community.

Kemp assures they will continue maintaining their exhibits throughout the community.

Kemp says they appreciate the wonderful support they have received and the 30 local artists that participated in the co-op gallery thank all of their faithful supporters for help and encouragement.

As a non-profit organization with no employees, the program would not have benefited from any governmental assistance provided during the pandemic.
