A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend on East 2nd Street Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were alerted about the fight by a phone call to dispatch with yelling in the background and when they arrived they found the girlfriend of 37-year-old Darrell Maxie had been assaulted.
After listening to the recordings from dispatch officers reportedly could hear the woman yelling “You hit me with a bat” the woman also had a knot over her eye.
Maxie was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
