The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports special agents obtained an indictment for a Stewart County, Tennessee mother accused of failing to report the assault of her three-year old child in February.
According to TBI officials, the Stewart County Grand Jury indicted 30-year old Melissa Woolman on Monday on one count of Child Endangerment — Failure to Report. She was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Stewart County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
Her charges are in connection to a TBI investigation that began at the request of the 23rd District Attorney following her three-year old boy’s assault and hospitalization after an incident in the family’s home on Hidden Hollow Drive in Dover on February 27. As a result of that investigation, agents developed information leading to the arrest of her husband, Stephen Woolman on February 28 as the individual responsible for the crime. He was charged with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse and booked into the Stewart County Jail.
