Governor Andy Beshear announced during his Thursday afternoon news briefing that the state’s travel ban will expire and groups of ten or fewer will be allowed three days sooner.
Governor Beshear says groups of ten or fewer will be allowed beginning Friday, May 22, as long as they continue to follow CDC guidelines that include social distancing.
Beshear recommends that gathers should occur outside, when at all possible.
The governor also announced the lifting of the state’s travel ban on May 22. He says even though it will be lifted, everyone needs to think carefully about where they travel.
One-hundred and ninety-nine new cases of COVID-19 were reported across the Commonwealth bringing the total cases to 7,225. As of Thursday afternoon, 2,712 people have fully recovered.
