A Hopkinsville woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after she reportedly stabbed a man on North Kentucky Avenue Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old Mechelle McGregor stabbed 27-year old Karl Bailey of Hopkinsville in the arm during an altercation.
Police say they were able to slow Bailey’s bleeding by using a tourniquet when they arrived.
Bailey was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he was treated and released.
A friend of Bailey’s reportedly gave police a description of McGregor the mother of Bailey’s child and her last name stating Bailey told him she had stabbed him again.
McGregor had allegedly stabbed Bailey on March 24th during a fight after he had assaulted her.
McGregor is charged with first-degree assault.
