The role of community health departments has moved to the forefront during the COVID-19 pandemic as people learn more about their programs and message.
The Christian County Health Department has been very active in not only providing people with information about the coronavirus, but also working to coordinate with other agencies to prepare for how to best combat it.
Amanda Sweeney with the health department says with more people turning to health officials for information, now is a good time for their agency to educate people wanting to learn more.

Sweeney said they are involved in daily planning and preparation with local health, safety, and medical officials to make plans and address new issues should they arise.
