A plea deal could be reached or a trial date may be set on Friday in the murder case against a Hopkinsville man accused in a fatal shooting on Kenwood Drive more than three years ago.
During a virtual hearing in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning, defense attorney David Rye and his client, Sergio Del Angel appeared before Judge John Atkins and requested a hearing be scheduled on Friday. Rye said he is working with Commonwealth’s Attorney and they may have a possible plea deal in the case by then or a trial date could be set on Friday.
Judge Atkins set the hearing for 1:00 Friday afternoon.
Del Angel is charged with murder, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and other offenses in the death of Kristofer Armstrong who was shot on the front porch of a Kenwood Drive home on May 11, 2017.
Del Angel remains lodged in the Christian County Jail.
