A hot and humid weekend is in store for the region with the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms next week from a tropical storm.
Weather Edge forecaster David Powell says Tropical Storm Cristobal has the chance to strengthen as it crosses the Gulf over the next few days.
He adds if remnants of the tropical storm make it to our region, there will be a few hazards possible.
Powell adds a cold front is making its way toward the region and as it does, the chances for precipitation will increase beginning Thursday afternoon.
He says a chance for showers will continue through Saturday.
Models tend to believe an active pattern and cooler weather is still on the way.
