Monday is the deadline for registered voters to request an absentee ballot for the primary election on Tuesday, June 23.
Officials with the Christian County Clerk’s Office say the ballots have to be postmarked by June 23rd at 6:00 p.m. or you can drop your ballot off at the old Courthouse on Main Street or at the drive-thru at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office during regular business hours.
At the close of business Friday, the Christian County Clerk’s Office reported they have received a total of 6,000 requests for absentee ballots and they have mailed out right at 4,000.
Officials say they have received 1,275 returned ballots and 290 people have voted in-house at the Courthouse.
Absentee voting can be made at the Courthouse by making an appointment. The clerk’s office is also allowing walk-ins at the Courthouse. To make an appointment call (270) 887-4107 or (270) 887-4100. If you can’t reach the clerk’s office by phone, officials say you can send an email to christiancountyelections@gmail.com with your phone number and they will contact you.
