Law enforcement are looking for a Hopkinsville man in connection to a shooting on McKee Street Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 23-year-old Tavarious Mathews is wanted in connection with a shooting that sent 33-year-old Maurikus Leavell and 35-year-old Carles Winston both of Hopkinsville to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
When police arrived they reportedly found Leavell that was shot in the arm and Winston showed up at Jennie Stuart Medical Center with several gunshot wounds and was transferred to a Nashville hospital.
The extent of the injuries remains unknown. Police blocked off most of McKee Street as they collected evidence and talked with witnesses.
Police say more than 70 shell casings and 5 guns were found in the area. A woman was also taken to the hospital for head injuries after falling down during the shooting.
Mathews is wanted on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police and first-degree wanton endangerment. He is described as a male, 6 foot 2 inches tall weighing 160 pounds.
