The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Lake Wind Advisory in effect until 8:00 Saturday evening for western Kentucky, southwest Indiana, and southern Illinois, with southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Meteorologists say strong winds and white capping waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions and can overturn small watercraft. Boaters should use extra caution when out on area lakes Saturday.
