Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch is encouraging the community to continue safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as restrictions surrounding the virus have begun to relax.
Lynch expresses concern over people not following COVID-19 guidelines and reminds everyone to continue social distancing and to wear masks.
There are plans in the works to reopen Hopkinsville City Hall after the Fourth of July, according to Lynch, who notes those entering will be required to wear a mask.
He encourages everyone to continue to support local businesses as we return to normal.
Lynch notes he is very aware of tensions in race relations around the country and says we all need to strive to be part of the solution.
He continues, noting there are many social issues and inequalities in the justice system and says we must be conscious of them and prepared to fix them.
